Camper Information

WHEN & WHERE

  • Arrive on the Sunday of your camp week between 2 and 4pm and go to the Residence Common Building to check-in. You will unpack your room and then meet your instrument teacher for an audition to determine your small ensemble and to make sure you’ve enrolled in the correct band.
            • Auditions are to help your instructors place you in a small ensemble that best matches your skills and to ensure you’ve enrolled in a band that matches your skill level.
            • Instrumentalists should prepare all the scales they know and bring along a piece of music that you like to play – it can be a solo piece you work on in private lessons, your part from a band piece you played this year, or anything else you like to play. You may be asked to do a little improvisation or sight reading in your audition, depending on the instructor.
            • Musical theatre participants should prepare a musical theatre song. Please bring your piano accompaniment or a karaoke track of your song
  • There is an all-camp meeting following all of the auditions at 4:30pm on the main stage of the RDP Arts Centre. Parents are welcome to attend the meeting and then head home.
  • Campers can be picked up after the final concert on Saturday which begins at 2pm and usually last about an hour and a half.
  • Campers may be signed out by a parent, guardian, or a pre-authorized representative at the camp office during the week. Campers may not leave with anyone other than a parent or guardian without pre-authorized consent.
